What are the best ways to handle stress that now just quickly turns to anger?  I know then the anger is directed towards those that do not neccessarily cause the stress.

Dear Stressed,
You've already taken steps 1 and 2. 1. Identifying that anger is being directed at the wrong people and 2. asking for help. Congratulations! The best way to deal with that anger/stress is to deal with it's origin. Sometimes that's not possible or easy, and in those cases you need to identify and implement some stress relieving coping skills. Not knowing the particulars of your situation, some general guidelines are to eat healthy, get adequate rest, exercise, take time for yourself, and do something you enjoy everyday. You're right, that when stress piles up it eventually comes out in ways and times that aren't helpful. Talking to a counselor can also be very helpful in managing stress and anger. You can locate counseling services on the web or in the yellow pages of your local phone book. If you would like further ideas or assistance you can call our toll-free # 24 hour/day at 1-866-567-2400. Hang in there. - Linda

Thank you for the advice even though sometimes it is hard to do some of those things like taking time for yourself or getting enough rest.  But I will try.  I do know stress comes out in not so helpful ways and recongizing it and being able to deal with it at times are two different things entirely.  Sometimes I think we all just get entirely stressed out and need someone to give us a new perspective.
